You might have heard that Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia. But what is Catalonia?

 Catalonia is one of the Kingdom of Spain's seventeen autonomous communities, the administrative divisions that represent the country's historical nationalities and regions. Catalonia comprises four provinces: Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona. Its capital city is Barcelona. History, language and a distinct cultural, political and legal tradition have shaped the personality of the country and the people. Nowadays Catalonia is an autonomous community within Spain with a government of its own known as the Generalitat.

Catalonia's own language is Catalan, a Romance language that has co-official status alongside Castilian (Spanish). Catalonia's artistic heritage is a permanent reminder of the creativity of the people. Examples are Empúries, the Roman monuments in Tarragona, the civil and religious works of Gothic art, the great painters of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Catalonia is a land of rich and varied scenery, with 580 km of Mediterranean coastline, mountain areas, as the Catalan Pyrenees. A rich architectural heritage has preserved in many fine cities steeped in character, with magnificent historic buildings, among them Girona and Tarragona.

The nature of Spain has a lot of variety to offer and also Catalonia's natural wealth is enormous. Several natural parks offer infinite leisure possibilities. Visit the region's farmhouses in the countryside. Stop at one of the numerous vantage points which offer spots for looking at the beautiful landscape. Numerous fountains are waiting to be discovered. For nature lovers, Catalonia is full of resources and rich of fauna and flora species. Catalonia offers many possibilities to enjoy nature and discover thousands of different species in fauna and flora. The region is known for its multifaceted landscape - varying from the coast to the mountains. Picnic areas and great views are waiting for you. Enjoy the volcanic zone of Garrotxa or the Montserrat's monasteries!

You will have a comfy car and a super friendly driver.  He will speak with you in English and Russian or just one of these languages f f you prefer :) As we already mentioned we will not take the highway so you can enjoy the views, see those small nice villages we will go through or stop and have a break whenever you like. There are no strict timelines so you don’t have to be back “on time” and receive that “look number 47” from other members of your tourist group if you are not.
